ThermiTight RF
What is ThermiTight RF?
ThermiTight RF is the first aesthetic procedure that delivers controlled thermal energy under the skin to stimulate collagen providing a tightening effect for loose or sagging skin. ThermiTight RF uses temperature-regulated radiofrequency(RF) energy delivered through a tiny probe to gently heat specific tissues to a pre-determined therapeutic temperature. Areas that can be treated are the face, neck, abdomen, arms, etc. This procedure is ideal for patients who want more results than non-invasive procedures but still wish to avoid surgery.
How does ThermiTight RF work?
ThermiTight RF is a minimally-invasive procedure done under local anesthesia. A tiny probe is inserted under the skin and then radiofrequency delivers energy to the target tissues stimulating collagen tightening. The tip of the probe constantly gives feedback of the skin temperature during the procedure. There is also an infrared camera that is used to monitor external skin temperature to allow for a safe and effective treatment.
Is it painful?
Local anesthetic is used to numb the treated area which can cause minimal discomfort during the injection of the numbing agent. After the area is numb, there is little to no discomfort. The most common sensations during the procedure is pressure and warmth. The procedure can also be done with or without medications to help with anxiety or pain.
How long does the procedure last?
The procedure itself can take about 1 to 2 hours. Depending on the area treated the time can be shorter or longer.
What is the downtime and side effects?
There is minimal downtime with ThermiTight RF. Depending on the area treated a supportive garment is worn for 3-4 days after the procedure. There can be swelling, redness, tenderness, drainage and bruising for several days to a few weeks after the procedure. Most patients can return to their normal activities as tolerated after 48 hours.
What results can I expect?
Results can be immediate and will improve over several months after the procedure. Visual comparison with pre-operative photographs will help to demonstrate changes. The results can last several years and can be enhanced and lengthened with maintenance treatments with non-invasive technology.
