Hand Rejuvenation
Much of the focus of rejuvenation is on the face, neck and chest; however; your hands can show signs of aging as well and are often overlooked in a rejuvenation plan. Great looking hands can help you look and feel your best and can compliment any facial rejuvenation plan. The three main ways to improve the appearance of aging hands can be put in one of 3 categories:

- Rejuvenate the skin
- Restore lost volume
- Reduce enlarged veins
The first way of reversing the signs of aging on hands is to improve the skin surface with laser skin resurfacing and rejuvenation. Lasers can address brown spots, reduce appearance of wrinkles, and improve texture. Combinations of lasers are often used to achieve the best results — a pigment laser such as a Q-switched laser or the long pulsed alexandrite GentleLase may be combined with a Fraxel laser treatment. Chemical peels can be used to address mild changes or to maintain results.
Most people lose volume in their hands with age thus making the hands look thin or skeltonized with very visible tendons and blood vessels. Restoration of lost volume or plumping the subcutaneous tissue with cosmetic fillers injections such as Restylane or Juvederm or Radiesse can greatly improve the appearance of thin hands. The dermal fillers are injected into the hands and can add volume to “plump up” the hands. These procedure are quick, easy with very little downtime. Fat transfer can be done very easily for a long lasting result in the hands.
Lastly, sclerotherapy injections can be used to treat the enlarged and prominent veins in the hands with remarkable results. Two or more treatment sessions may be required and some bruising can occur but the results are well worth it!
